PassTracker - Choosing between Manual and Auto Generation of Bar Codes for Passes

Print Bar Coded passes in batches, or individually using a plastic card badge printer. Details after the jump.

Auto vs Manual

Bar Code generation in PassTracker can be handled manually or automatically.

There is a setting in the Setup: General Preferences tab called "Bar Code Creation: Auto or Manual?"

Manual vs Auto Generation of Bar Codes for Passes

If you select Manual, no Bar Code number will come up when you generate a new Receipt Line Item. Instead, you will enter the Bar Code manually at this point. This will be done by assigning a Bar Code from a pre-printed Batch of Bar Codes.

Manually Printing a Batch of Bar Codes

From the Setup menu, select Print Passes

Steps in Creating a Batch of Bar Coded Passes

1) Select the number of passes to be printing. Usually the passes are printed on sheets of 10, so 100 would be ten sheets.

2) Note the ID of the Starting Number. This is automatically updated each time you create a new batch. You can manually edit this back to a lower number, if there is a problem printing a batch of passes.

3) Select the Pass Name. It is possible to set these all to a standard item, such as "Pass", or use the popup menu to select the type of pass to create.

4) Select the Avery Label type to print. (see below for the types offered)

5) Click the Create button to generate a new batch of Passes.

6) Click Print to Print the passes.
