How to Create a Zip or Archived File on a Macintosh

It is easy to create ZIP files on a Mac.

From the File Menu in the Finder

Zipping, archiving, compressing a file. These are all basically the same thing and there is a very easy way to do this right from the OS X Finder.

Simply select 'Create Archive of..." while a file or folder is highlighted. That is, single click on the file and then do one of the following:

• right click the file or folder
• click on the File Menu and select the 'Create Archive of...' item.
